IMMEX
The IMMEX Program is a permit by which it is allowed to import temporarily the necessary goods to be used in an industrial process or service designated to produce, transform or repair foreign goods covering the payment of general import tax, value added tax and, if it is the case, of the countervailing duties.
Some of the benefits that this permit has is that holders have the opportunity to temporarily import, free of import tax and VAT, the necessary goods to be used in an industrial process or designated service.
The objective of this permit is to increase and to promote exportation of products and to give access to international firms to participate with Mexican companies, besides to stimulate modernization of the infrastructure produced by Mexico
Shelter
The IMMEX Shelter Program is when one or more foreign companies provide technology and production material, without direct involvement in the Program. Shelter operations offer what is called “instant Maquilas”, which means that new companies are allowed to operate under their business license, thus offering a “soft landing” to foreign companies that may be new to Mexico.
One of the many advantages of using a shelter company in Mexico for a new firm into market is that the company can set up quickly, without many of the legal burdens that may be difficult or time consuming once they are here. It also offers to a new company time to organize and to become familiar with the new environment, which in this case is located in Mexico.
The shelter firm handles all of the client firm´s permitting and licensing, regulatory compliance, administration, staffing, and legal issues, and the client should provide equipment, a production supervisor, and materials for assembling its product.
FDA Registry
The FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) Registry is required to all of the companies that fabric, process, pack or store food/drinks that will be consumed in the United States, and also rule all the drug products that are destined to be used on the diagnosed, cure, treatment or prevention of diseases and that affect the structure or any other function of the human body and animals.
Foreign manufacturers must meet applicable U.S. medical devices regulations in order to import devices into the U.S., and we do count with this registration.
Why is it required to sign in for the FDA registry?
The registry of the installations will help the FDA to: determine the location and source of a possible incident of bioterrorism or an outbreak of food/drug intoxication and also to warn the installations in case of being affected.
